IV. The peer-review process

Our team of reviewers (reviewers) is composed of academics and scholars from various academic and scientific environments (Universities of Bucharest, Cluj, Constanta, Brasov, Alba-Iulia, Timisoara, Targoviste), some activating at this time at European universities. Thus, Editura Universitara benefits from the experience of other countries universities peer review. They cover various areas of expertise who sign papers submitted for publication. Of these, some are also responsible for publishing collections. If interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary materials resort to evaluators representative for the subjects addressed. C
ollections coordinators were selected of referencing fields, they are professors or associate professors with scientific teaching and publishing experience (collective volumes coordinators, assistants in the editorial board of some academic journals etc.), as resulted from each CV.

Author / authors will send the text, accompanied by two reports in electronic and print versions on the address of the publisher. The content must be identical on both formats. Editura Universitara will not get a material that is incomplete in one of two formats. General secretary of the editorial will take the work and enrolls them in the works register, and depending on their field, assignes them to a book editor.

The book editor submit manuscript at two of Editura Universitara reviewers.

Evaluation that we perform is blind peer review (the author does not know the identity of the evaluators and assessors nor the authors). The assessment takes into account issues such as:
- Scientific novelty that
the study brings;
- Originality;
- Theoretical reasoning and the extent to which this is supported by references exploited;
- Presentation and implementation of research methodology;
- Clear presentation of ideas;
- The extent to which work brings advanced knowledge in the field concerned;
- Quality of scientific expression.

After assessment, the work:
a) may be accepted in the form in which it shows the time of evaluation;
b) may be acceptable in terms of interventions recommended to text authors;
c) can be rejected.

From the annually proposed to edit works  a percentage of about 35% of them are denied to edit or authors makes changes indicated by reviewers.

After receiving reports from referees, the book editor submits to author an address with observations drawn from the referees assessment on the content, structure and style, the author has the final decision on changing his text.

After receiving acceptance from the authors to realize the changes required, they will return with improved material, that is then checked by an editor and submitted to typing. Typed material is sent to the authors for imprimatur.

Then the publishing contract is signed, in which is mentioned that the authors assume responsibility for the content of the work, the images and other visual elements inserted into work, for which they received from museums, archives, institutions or individuals permission to use.

For volumes of studies, volume editor will obtain disclosure agreement signed by each author participating in volume. Editura Universitara allows to the authors of these studies to republish them in other journals or books with tme mention that they were originally published in a Editura Universitara press release. If some studies have previously been published in other books and are intended for publication in a volume published by Editura Universitara, editor of the volume will obtain permission to republish these studies and will present it to Editura Universitara.

Regarding payment for obtaining permission to use copyrighted materials, the authors will present to Editura Universitara bills and letters of application of using the material. In some cases, museums, archives, institutions or individuals who have given permission for use of copyrighted material may request a volume of publication. Editor will undertake to send these books to institutions, individuals, which allowed use of protected material.

Besides the scientific and academic component, our Publishing House promotes / offers books for children, adolescents and youth or literature for any age.
